John Ransom “Rance” Howard, 87, formerly of Right Fork Road, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Hendersonville, NC.

Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Benson and Mary Hall Howard.
Mr. Howard retired from the City of Pickens after 32 years of service.

Surviving is his son, Donald Howard of Pickens; four grandchildren, Josh Howard, Della Howard, Melissa Howard and Travis Howard; four great grandchildren, Jonathon Howard, Allen Waters, Josie Waters and Aaron Armstrong.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Nora Helen Howard, his second wife, Eva Lee Wilson Howard and a son, John Ransom Howard, Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home.
The family will be at their respective homes.
