Report: "Very Religious" Easley Loves Its Porn

You can hide your porn stash — but you can't hide your porn cache.

A majority of folks in the Greenville/Mauldin/Easley metro area (including fellow Patch towns Greer, Taylors, and Simpsonville) earlier this year identified themselves as "very religious" in a national survey by the Gallup Organization. A full 55 percent identified themselves as such, placing the metro area among the 10 most-religious areas in the entire nation.

But it seems like area residents are exalting in more than just the Lord, Buzzfeed reports.

Taking the Gallup data, the porn website, Pornhub, mined its site usage stats from Dec. 1, 2012 to April 30, 2013 to determine just how often residents in these "very religious" areas visited the hardcore XXX site, which features literally thousands of free video porn clips.

Result: Greenville and its surrounding metro area had 8.4 Pornhub visits per capita. 

That ranked the Greenville/Mauldin/Easley area ninth among the nation's most porn-loving religious areas, making the area relatively "porny" compared to other metro areas on the list. 

But, if it makes people feel better, the usage results pale to several other cities on the list, including number one Huntsville, Ala., with 23.8 Pornhub visits per capita.
