Revolution3 South Carolina Triathlon is This Weekend In Anderson County

Anderson County is pleased to announce the return of REVOLUTION3 SOUTH CAROLINA TRIATHLON. The event will take place on October 13-14, with registration/practice & kid’s activities (Little REV3 and REV3 Kid’s zone) on Saturday and the full REV3 SC triathlon on Sunday.

According to REV3 officials, “Revolution3 South Carolina is one of the most spectator-friendly races in the country; the highlight being a swim course around idyllic Lake Hartwell. Friends and family can walk a peninsula jutting out into the lake, without missing a second of the action. For the athletes, the bike course features rolling hills, a few challenging climbs, and some ‘big ring’ action as well, followed by a fun and compact run course and culminating in a spectacular finish only Rev3 could provide, outside the Anderson Civic Center.”

“Anderson County is rapidly becoming a hub of athletic competition,” said Anderson County Council Chairman Tom Allen. “We couldn’t be more thrilled with REV 3’s choice to return for a second year to our fair county and especially on the heels of a very successful 4^th Annual Labor Day Omnium Pro Bike Race.  Pro Athletes from across the globe are discovering what we have known all along – Anderson County is THE place to visit, work and play!  I encourage everyone to come out on October 14 to watch these athletes compete and be sure to let your southern hospitality shine.”

“This is yet another opportunity to showcase our county, Lake Hartwell and our beautiful country side to approximately 1500 tri-athletes,” said local organizer Gary Knight, owner of 3CrossTri. “This event has the potential to produce an economic impact of about $350,000.00. We encourage everyone to come out and join the fun. You may find yourself inspired to become a 2013 REV3 SC triathlon-er.”

In 2011, Rev 3 Triathlon announced their 3-5 year commitment to Anderson County as selected host to a weekend series event during October.  This event was made possible with the help of 3CrossTri and our local triathletes, who assisted in mapping courses for the swim, bike and run.
