UPDATE: Road 18 Bridge Will Remain Closed
South Carolina DOT said the bridge would have to be evaluated.
UPDATED: 4:17 p.m. Nov. 6
The South Carolina Department of Transportation bridge inspectors determined Tuesday the bridge will remain closed due to the extent of the damage to the bridge and the repairs needed.
SCDOT said the closure is due to a piling problem that has caused the bridge to sink about one foot.
