Rock Springs Baptist Church to Host Evangelism Conference

Thousands of pastors and laymen expected to attend 2013 South Carolina Baptist Evangelism Conference

Rock Springs Baptist Church, Hwy 123, Easley will host the 2013 South Carolina Baptist Evangelism Conference, February 19-21, 2013. Thousands of Baptist Pastors and laymen from across both South Carolina and North Carolina are expected to attend the Tuesday through Thursday meetings.

From the opening session on Tuesday evening until its conclusion on Thursday evening, those in attendance will be lifted with wonderful gospel music and challenged by a program of outstanding evangelistic preachers from across America. These three days of excitement and joy will mark South Carolina Baptists' thrust for Reaching the Unreached in 2013 under the theme of the Power of One!

Don Gibson, Minister of Music at Rock Springs, will direct the music. Each session will be punctuated by inspiring congregational singing and by a combined choir of hundreds of voices from Rock Springs and other area churches. Additionally, various soloists and groups will open and sing at each session.

The Conference preaching program will include:

Rev. Brandon Blair, of Langston Baptist Church, Conway, SC. Prior to his work as a youth minister, Rev. Blair was a decorated member of the U.S. Marine Corps with a Purple Heart for wounds received in battle.

Dr. Phil Hoskins, Pastor of Higher Ground Baptist Church, Kingsport, TN, is recognized as one of Southern Baptists' greatest preachers.

Dr. Bob Pitman, Florence, AL, evangelist, Bible conference speaker, and Seminary professor with Mid America Seminary.

Dr. Herb Reavis, Pastor of North Jacksonville Baptist Church, Jacksonville, FL speaks with the boldness of an Old Testament prophet, but with the compassion of Christ himself.

Dr. Jerry Spencer, evangelist and pastor from Bainbridge, GA, brings a lifetime of ministerial zeal to reach the masses for Christ. His work in international missions has resulted in more than 100,000 professions of faith in just the last few years alone.

Dr. Jerry Vines of Atlanta, GA was the long time pastor of First Baptist, Jacksonville, FL, and is considered by many a premier pulpiteer in America.

Dr. Bobby Welch of the Tennessee Baptist Convention is leading Baptists in a world vision thrust to take the gospel message to all nations.

Dr. Don Wilton, Pastor of First Baptist, Spartanburg, will bring the power of his pulpit preaching that has grown his congregation to one of the largest churches in South Carolina. His keen sense of humor and incisive insight into the changing world dynamic equips him to help South Carolina Baptists achieve its lofty goals in evangelism.

Coach Jerry Moore of the Appalachian State University football program will speak both at the general session and the Student Ministry Experience for the students and youth leaders during the Wednesday evening program.

Sessions will be led by Lee Clamp, Ron Barker, and Randall Jones of the Convention’s Evangelism office and by Dr. Jim Austin, Executive Director of the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
