Seneca Man Charged with Carrying Weapon on Clemson Campus

Suspect also charged with illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Clemson University police arrested a Seneca man for carrying a weapon on public property and for illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

James Anthony Durham of 104 J. Cobb Dr., Seneca, was charged with the felonies after an officer located a stolen handgun on the ground beside a parked vehicle on Centennial Boulevard.

Durham was seen bending down beside the vehicle prior to officers locating the handgun.

The Clemson University Police Department had received information that the handgun was stolen just prior to the officers locating and interviewing Durham.

Durham was previously convicted of a crime of violence  and is not permitted to possess or acquire a firearm. He is being held at the Pickens County Law Enforcement Center on a $10,000 surety bond.
