It's time for the Oscars, otherwise known as the Super Bowl for film geeks like myself.

The Best Picture field has widened in recent years, after Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences changed the rules to allow more films to have a chance at taking home the top honor.

I've been slack as a film buff this year. I can't remember the last time I went into Oscar Night having only seen one of the movies nominated for Best Picture.

I loved Django Unchained, but I can't imagine the movie being named Best Picture by the Academy, though I could be wrong.

Argo, Ben Affleck's movie telling the true-story of efforts to rescue Americans holed up in the Canadian embassy during the 1979 hostage crisis in Tehran, seems to be the front-runner this year, but it's anyone's game.
