Speak Out: What Snacks Could You Not Live Without?
Whether it's a company bankruptcy or a temporary shortage, sometimes snacks disappear from stores. What are your go-to treats?

It's been a rough few months for snackers – some tasty treats have vanished completely or suffered shortages.
Hostess, makers of Twinkies, Zingers, Sno Balls, Hostess Cupcakes, Ho-Hos, Dings Dongs, Fruit Pies and more, announced last year it was filing for bankruptcy, causing its treats to vanish from shelves.
While the company has several suitors vying for some of its brands, it remains to be seen which of its snacks will rise from the grave and grace stores once more.

Another snack was threatened in the weeks before the Super Bowl – chicken wings. The National Chicken Council announced that record corn prices in 2012 had cause chicken companies to produce fewer birds.
Fewer birds meant fewer wings to slather in sauce. The shortage caused chicken wing prices to rise at some places, but advanced planning on the part of restaurant and bar owners meant that no one had to do without spicy wings as they watch the Big Game.

Snowfalls, like the one the Upstate experienced yesterday, cause some of us to go into hoarding mode, making some snack treats unavailable when the cravings hit.
