State House Candidates to Debate Oct. 18
B.R. Skelton, Ed Harris will tackle issues at PCTA-sponsored debate in Six Mile

Incumbent Rep. B.R. Skelton and his challenger Ed Harris will take their campaigns directly to the public during a candidate meeting set up by the Pickens County Taxpayers Association.
The meeting will be held 7pm, Thursday Oct. 18 at the Town Hall in Six Mile.

"Members of the state legislature have much more power over your life and pocket book than any other government body in South Carolina," said PCTA President Dennis Reinert. "In fact the state legislature has more control over criminal law than the Federal government."
Reinert said the PCTA has seen indications thatWe have seen indications that some in the state legislature want to start a South Carolina property tax supposedly to spend on education. Â

"The Pickens County Taxpayers Association encourages all citizens to get to know their candidates and what their plans are for the future of you and our state," he said.
