T. Ed Garrison Arena's February Events

Events include Junior High School Rodeo, Golden Retriever Agility Trial and charity fundraiser.

S.C. Junior High School Rodeo
When: Feb. 1 from 8 to 11 p.m.
Cost: Free for spectators

Riders will compete in bareback, barrel-racing, team-roping, calf-roping, pole-bending and goat-tying events.

Michael Hare Memorial Roping
When: Feb. 2 from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Cost: Free for spectators

Cash and buckles to winners in each event, Teskey saddle to high-point winners; also includes a class for younger ropers.

2013 Clemson Bull Test Sale
When: Feb. 2 at noon

The yearling bulls for sale are outstanding purebred, herd sire prospects and commercial bulls; 50-plus bulls and 30-plus open heifers expected.

Atlanta Golden Retriever Club Agility Trial
When: Feb. 8-10 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Exciting show for the whole family features talented dogs navigating an obstacle course with their handlers. Only show dogs are allowed in the arena for this event.

Clemson University IHSA Horse Show
When: Feb. 16 and 17 at 8 a.m.
Cost: Free for spectators

The Clemson University Equestrian Team is hosting the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association’s competition. Entries are by invitation only, but spectators are welcome. The Hunt-Seat show is Feb. 16 and Western show is Feb. 17. Riders are randomly assigned a horse to ride that they likely have not ridden before. This increases difficulty, but allows the riders to exhibit their equestrian knowledge and talent. Competitors include students from Georgia Southern University, the College of Charleston, Lander University, Converse College and Clemson University.
