Teen Charged with Simple Larceny, Vandalism

A second teen was charged with malicious damage to real property.

Pickens County Sheriff's deputies have charged two teenagers after they were called to an alarm at the old Dacusville Elementary School on April 13.

Deputies said a volunteer with Liberty Fire Department also responded and was able to enter the building and found the two suspects inside.

Deputies have charged 17-year-old Dustin James Clayton of Easley with malicious damage to real property/vandalism to property and with simple larceny. Deputies said Clayton was found with property taken from the building on his person.

A 14-year-old also was charged with malicious damage to real property.

Deputies said the two boys were found on the top floor of the building with fire extinguishers. Deputies allege that the two had sprayed the contents of the extinguishers over the hall floors and in classrooms.
