Tri-County To Offer Handgun Safety Class

Tri-County Technical College’s Anderson Campus will offer a Handgun Safety and Proficiency course to allow qualifying participants to apply for a South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit.  Students will be provided with the basic knowledge and skills for the safe and proper use of a handgun.

The classroom portion of the class will be held at the College’s Anderson Campus Saturday, October 20, from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 pm.  The firing range location and times will be announced during class.

The course includes eight hours of classroom instruction and additional time on the firing range. Topics include weapons components and handgun knowledge, handgun safety and handling, cleaning and storage of weapons, basic shooting techniques, range safety and South Carolina law.

The cost is $95 per person or for individuals who bring a friend; the cost is discounted to $75 per person (one friend per person).   For more information, call (864) 646-1700.
