Upstate Soldier's Body Returns Home Monday
Sgt. Channing Hicks, 24, of Greer was killed in action in Afghanistan.

Funeral arrangements have been announced for the Upstate soldier who was killed in Afghanistan earlier this month.
along with Spc. Joseph A. Richardson, 23, of Booneville, Ark. on Nov. 16. The two men died from injuries suffered when enemy forces attacked their unit in Paktika province with an improvised explosive device and small arms fire.
Sgt. Hick's body is scheduled to be flown into Greeville Spartanburg Airport Monday at 1:30pm.

After the body arrives there will be a processional to the funeral home in Greer.Â
Visitation will be held 6-8m Tuesday, November 27 at Fairview Baptist Church, located at 1300 Locust Hill Road in Greer. Â

The funeral will be held at 2pm Wednesday, November 28 at Fairview Baptist Church in Greer.Â
Burial with full military honors will follow at Wood Memorial Park, located at 863 South 908 in Duncan.
