Domestic violence can happen to anyone of any race, age, sexual orientation, religion or gender. It can happen to couples who are married, living together or who are dating. Domestic violence affects people of all socio-economic backgrounds and education levels.
Domestic violence destroys relationships but it doesn’t have to kill. Sometimes people are unaware that the relationship they are in is abusive. Behavior in abusive relationships can sometimes result in violence and death. Help is available. If you feel your life or safety is in danger, call 911 immediately! Do not hesitate to reach out for help or to be a helper.
