DAR Group Donates Forgotten Patriots to Library

Donation in honor of Black History Month.

In honor of Black History Month, General Marion's Brigade Chapter NSDARΒ donatedΒ Forgotten PatriotsΒ to the Berkeley County Library. This book was published by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. The 874 page book contains the names of known African American and American Indian Patriots who served in the Revolutionary War. Over 160 Patriots are listed in the chapter on South Carolina. All thirteen colonies are included in this book. The book contains images of actual sources as well as an extensive bibliography for each colony. A supplemental volume was also donated containing additional names and information discovered since the original publishing.Β
