Fire Destroys Goose Creek Home

Tuesday fire displaced victim, according to Red Cross.

American Red Cross volunteers were called Tuesday to the scene of a Monday evening Goose Creek home fire at 134 Oakside Drive and provided assistance to the resident. The Goose Creek Rural Fire Department had responded to the blaze which had destroyed the home.

The Red Cross provided the fire victim with funds to replace food and clothing lost in the fire, temporary shelter, a comfort kit, containing personal hygiene items, t-shirts, and referrals to partner agencies to assist with the man’s long-term recovery.

The Red Cross has assisted 609 individuals affected by disasters, including home fires, in its seven-county region of Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton and Jasper counties, since July 1 of last year.  Members of our community can support local victims of disasters similar to this and enable the Red Cross to assist families like this who are impacted by residential fires by contacting the American Red Cross at 843-764-2323 ext. 368 or by going towww.LowcountryRedCross.org.
