Goose Creek Child Allegedly Abducted, Found Safe
Police say a 4-year-old child was taken from Westview Primary by parent.

A child feared abducted has been found safe by S.C. Highway Patrol.Β
The 4-year-old female child at Westview Primary was allegedly abducted by a 26-year-old female at around 8:15 a.m. Thursday, according to Goose Creek Police.
The alleged abductor removed her daughter from Westview Primary School and departed the area in a black in color Mitsubishi convertible with a Florida license plate. Initial reports were that this individual was not believed to have legal custody of the child in question.Β

GCPD units responded to the school and took positions along major arteries departing the City.Β A Be On Look Out was broadcast to surrounding agencies while information to activate the AMBER Alert system was gathered.Β
At approximately 8:45 a.m., GCPD was notified that a Trooper with the South Carolina Highway Patrol had stopped the suspect vehicle near the 187 mile marker on I-26 westbound.Β The Trooper verified that the child was safe and as of the time of this release was detaining the vehicle and occupants pending the arrival of GCPD investigators.Β
