High-Speed Wreck Sends Seven to Hospital
Goose Creek man allegedly drove 105 mph on Henry Brown Boulevard Saturday night.

A Goose Creek man has been named a suspect in a Saturday night wreck in Hanahan that sent him and six others to area hospitals.Β
According to Hanahan Police, Dennis Lee Smalls, 24, was clocked at 105 mph in a 55 mph zone by a stationary officer on Henry E. Brown Jr. Boulevard and North Pointe Industrial Boulevard. Lee was traveling northbound on Henry E. Brown Jr. Boulevard. The police officer pursued, activating his lights, but did not exceed 90 mph due to the wet roads, according to the incident report.Β
A mile and a half later, Smalls allegedly approached the intersection of Redbank Road and failed to stop for the red light. As he passed through the intersection, his vehicle broadsided a taxi carrying seven people. One of the passengers was ejected from the taxi.Β

The six passengers in the taxi and Smalls were transported to the hospital.Β
Smalls has not been charged in the incident yet, but could face charges of failure to stop for a blue light, according to the Post and Courier.Β
