Judge Sets Bond for Men Charged in Connection with Meth Lab Fire

Bond was set at $370,000 for both Shonni Abernathy and Jerald McCabe, who are charged with attempting to manufacture methamphetamine, after an explosion at an apartment complex May 31 that killed three people.

A judge set a $370,000 bond for both Shonni Segrest Abernathy, 39, and Jerald Edward McCabe, 33, who are charged in the incident, according to New 4 Charleston.

. Shonnie Segrest Abernathy is the father of Morgan Abernathy, according to Moon. Morgan Abernathy and Garbe were cousins.

Shonni Abernathy and McCabe have been charged with attempting to manufacture methamphetamine and two counts of exposing a child to methamphetamine manufacturing materials.  The pair are also charged with violating their probation, as both have prior criminal records.

If both men make bond, the judge stated that they will be placed under house arrest and be required to wear a GPS for tracking purposes, the article said.
