Lowcountry Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Minor

A North Charleston man is in custody after allegations he sexually assaulted a young girl, the Post and Courier reported.

Corey Elijah Hegwood, 23, is accused of multiple sexual encounters with a young girl over several years. She was between 5 and 10 years old at the time of the alleged incidents. The incidents occurred in the City of Charleston and Hegwood was in his teens at the time of the incident.
