Mother of Teen Charged with Reckless Homicide Speaks Out
Mother says Shaylynn Capers used to say she'd make her mother proud.
The mother of a teen charged with reckless homicide after she allegedly attempted to elude authorities — a chase that ended with two of her passengers killed — told media Monday that her daughter appeared to have a different path.
Sharon Capers spoke with ABC News 4. Capers said her 17-year-old daughter Shaylynn Nichole Capers had succumbed to peer pressure.

"I wanted great things for Shaylynn. She did, too," her mother said. "She kept telling me, ‘Yeah mama, I'm going to make you proud. I'm going to go in the military. I'm going to do this for you.'"
