Motor vehicle burglaries are on the rise in Berkeley County, according to RaidsOnline.com, which tracks crime trends in the county.

Looking at data fromΒ April 10-17, there were 10 motor vehicle burglaries reported. Last week, no motor vehicle burglaries were reported. But the crime has made of 9.4 percent of crime since Jan. 1.Β 

Vandalism also made an appearance this week with five incidents. The crime has made up 8.8 percent of crimes since Jan. 1.

While 13 motor vehicle thefts were reported last week, only three thefts were reported this week. And while 11 aggravated assaults were reported last week, only one was reported this week.

Most crimes were committed on Monday, April 15, and Thursday, April 11.Β

  • Aggravated assault - 1
  • Theft - 2
  • Drug/narcotics violation - 3
  • Residential burglary - 3
  • Weapons violation - 2
  • Assault (other) - 7
  • Commercial burglary - 1
  • Disorderly conduct - 1
  • Traffic incident - 1
  • All other criminal - 1
