Motorcyclist Killed on Old Back River Road

A Moncks Corner man died after he wrecked his motorcycle on Old Back River Road Saturday night.

Alonzo Wendell McGee, 49, failed to negotiate a curve, wrecked and was thrown into a home's yard. The resident called 911. McGee was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. 

He died of head and body trauma, and his death was ruled accidental, Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury said. McGee was not wearing a helmet. 

The accident was investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

McGee's death comes just weeks after another fatal motorcyclist wreck in Goose Creek.
