Patch Editor Talks Journalism with Marrington Elementary Students

Each month Marrington Elementary School Counselor Ann Schuler hosts a Mini-Career Fair with 5^th grade students. For the month of April the featured speaker was Lindsay Street, editor of Goose Creek Patch and Summerville Patch.  

Street turned the table on the students and used her journalistic skills to ask them questions about a range of subjects to ascertain their knowledge, interests, and areas of concern — all relating back to journalism and encouraging students to ask more questions. Street told the students that they were never to young to begin honing their journalistic skills and become involved writing letters to the newspaper editor and blogging.
