Police: Pistol-Whipped Infant Story a Hoax

Goose Creek Police have arrested mother for felony filing of a false police report.

The mother who filed a police report saying her infant son was struck twice in the head with a pistol has been arrested for filing a false police report, according to Goose Creek Police.

The 11-month-old child was allegedly assaulted during an armed robbery outside the Dollar General Monday evening.Β 

The investigation of the reported armed robbery revealed that no gun was involved and that the original report that the 11-month-old child was struck in the head with a gun was false, according to police. Β

Karsen Ruffin has been arrested and charged with felony filing of a false police report. She is housed at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.Β Β 

The investigation of this case is ongoing and additional arrest(s) may be forthcoming, according to police.Β
