Rainfall Causes Sewage Overflows in Goose Creek

The heavy rains have done a lot more than dampen spirits in Goose Creek. Live 5 News reports the rains have caused untreated sewage to overflow at six pumping stations and near Goose Creek High.

The TV news outlet reported these pumping stations are affected, in addition to manholes overflowing near the school:

On Highway 176, near Devon Forest; on Henry Brown Boulevard, between Red Bank Road and Liberty Hall Road; on Madeline Drive, near Boulder Bluff; on Liberty Hall Road, near Liberty Hall Plantation, and on Price Street and Weeks Avenue, near Forest Lawn.

Residents are asked to avoid any standing water in these areas as a safety precaution.
