Residents Without Water for Days at Brandywine Apartments

A water line apparently broke inside the complex Monday night.

Residents ofΒ Brandywine TownhomesΒ and Garden Apartments have gone at least 36 hours without water service in their homes after a water line apparently broke Monday night.

Management for Brandywine Apartments did not return repeated attempts by Patch seeking comment on the situation.Β As of 5 p.m. Wednesday, the on-call service for the townhomes could not say whether water was returned to residents.Β

The alleged broken water line is not the responsibility of City of Goose Creek or Berkeley County Water & Sewer, but the two government agencies were aware of the situation.Β

"It has nothing to do with us; it's all their apartment management company ... Our water supply to them is working just fine. It's something on their end," City PIO Jesica Mackey said. "Earlier today (Wednesday), after lunch, the apartment complex had a contractor out there to fix whatever pipe problems they have ... they said it would be back on at 4, but I don't know."

It is unknown how many residents were affected or if and when water service will resume.Β
