Robbery Suspect Caught in Goose Creek Walmart

Man allegedly said he had a bomb during the robbery.

A man wanted for a Thursday afternoon bank robbery in Summerville was caught at the Walmart in Goose Creek later in the evening, the Post and Courier reported.

Charles E. Johnson III, 23, of Summerville has been arrested and charged with Entering a Financial Institution with the Intent to Steal. His bond hearing is 7 p.m. Friday.

A Goose Creek Police Officer recognized the suspect from the pictures released after the robbery at First Federal on North Main Street in Summerville.Β

The newspaper reported:

An officer inside the Goose Creek Wal-Mart recognized a man matching the description of the suspect. He approached him and asked him to move out of the store.Β Once outside, the officer then asked his supervisor to send a β€œBOLO” image of the suspect to his cell phone for confirmation. When it was e-delivered, the man and the suspect in the photograph were a match.
