Sedgefield Intermediate principal on administrative leave after criminal domestic violence charge.

Sedgefield Intermediate Principal Clarence Leland Hawkins is on administrative leave after an ex-girlfriend has alleged criminal domestic violence, the Post and Courier reported.

The incident report was filed with the Hanahan Police Department. Hawkins was arrested Dec. 30, and placed on leave Jan. 3, according to the Post and Courier.Â

The report alleges Hawkins forced his way into a ex-girlfriend's house while looking for his watch. He allegedly shoved her during the incident.Â

As soon as the district learned of the alleged incident--reported off of school grounds and not during school hours--and in compliance with District policy, the employee was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Please note that we may not disclose other specifics about the employee's employment as investigations regarding personnel matters are protected by privacy rights.Â
Mr. Hawkins was not at school on the Work Day for employees on January 2 and was placed on administrative leave on Thursday, January 3
