Speak Out: Distress Flag is Unpatriotic

The Summerville resident flying a U.S. flag upside down and underneath another nation's flag said he's doing so to protest "the so-called person who resides in the White House." 

Some people posting on Patch have lauded the military veteran for his courage, others have condemned him for disrespecting the nation by abusing the U.S. flag. 

Flying the U.S. flag upside down is a sign of distress or danger.
