As South Carolina's First Congressional GOP race turns negative, tell us if your vote will be affected by the mudslinging.

Friday marked the day that the GOP race to fill Sen. Tim Scott's vacant congressional seat turned negative.
In public appearances leading up to that day, including the night before, the field had remain cordial with just a few barbs here and there. But on Friday, Elizabeth Moffly released an ad slamming "Good Ol' Boys" and John Kuhn sent out mailers trashing rival Teddy Turner.Β
Studies have shown negative advertising works. And while there is always speculation that it could backfire on the one slinging the mud, it rarely does.Β
