The Charleston area has some beautiful spots for skygazing and taking in events like the Lyrids meteor shower, which is happening now, and will continue through Friday, April 26, peaking in the predawn hours of Sunday and Monday.Β
According toΒ Weather.com, the region has some rain in the forecast Saturday, but Sunday and Monday should have partly cloudy skies, offering an opportunity to see the shower.Β
Lyrids can have anywhere from 10 to 100 shooting stars in an hour, according to AccuWeather'sΒ Mark Paquette.
