Troopers Investigating Deadly Crash in Goose Creek

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in Goose Creek this afternoon on Red Bank Road near Rent-A-Center.

Frank Herriott Jr., 57, of Goose Creek, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Berkeley County Coroner's office.

Herriott was reportedly heading west on Red Bank Road when his sedan hit a curb and then ran off the right side of the road, striking a parked van, according to Coroner Bill Salisbury.

A medical condition may have been the cause of the incident, Salisbury said. The coroner and the highway patrol are investigating.
