Pine Harbour Meth Lab Suspects Captured
Meth lab discovered after fire claims three lives.
The investigation into the May 31 fire in Pine Harbour Apartments, which left three dead, has lead authorities to arrest two men in connection with the methamphetamine laboratory located at the scene.
Shonni Segrest Abernathy, 39, and Jerald Edward McCabe, 33, are charged with attempting to manufacture methamphetamine and two counts of exposing a child to methamphetamine manufacturing materials. The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office had assistance from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and SLED during the investigation. The investigation into the fire remains ongoing, according to PIO Dan Moon.
Both men are currently housed at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center, where they await a 7 p.m. Wednesday bond hearing.
