Capt. John David Hortman, formerly of Spartanburg, died Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, in Fort Benning, Ga. Born May 6, 1981, in Spartanburg, S.C., he was the son of Brenda Touchton Jones of Inman and the late John Wilmer Hortman.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, in First Baptist Church of Spartanburg. Visitation will follow in the church Welcome Center. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
