Arrests Made in Murder Cases

11 people face charges for their roles in two southern Greenville County murder cases. More murders in same area under investigation.

Greenville County Sheriff Steve Loftis announced Wednesday that deputies have arrested 11 people in connection with two recent murders in southern Greenville County.

Loftis announced the arrests at a Wednesday press conference discussing those murders and four others that have all happened in the same general area of the county. Two of those murders still remain unsolved.

Loftis said Jamie Mishoe, along with six accomplices, have been arrested and charged with the shooting death of 21-year-old John Zimeri last week, Fox Carolina reported.

Deputies responded to a 911 call Saturday of gunfire and discovered Zimeri of Greenville dead in a mobile home at 630 Centre Blvd., located off Augusta Road near Donaldson Center Airport about five miles outside Mauldin.

Deputies reportedly found Zimeri's body in the doorway of the home's rear entrance. Deputy coroner Kent Dill said Zimeri had been shot in the torso.

In addition to Mishoe, who has been charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, six others face charges stemming from the homicide. Loftis said the alleged accomplices tried to protect Mishoe after the crime and are being charged with criminal conspiracy and accessory after the fact.

All seven suspects remain in the county detention center.

Meantime, four other suspects are under arrest for the Dec. 18 killing of 26-year-old Chiquita Johnson of Greenville and the shooting of another person at the Highland Square Apartments off Pine Creek Court, located about six miles west of Mauldin.

Darnell Cobb, 23, has been charged with murder, kidnapping and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, Loftis said. His arrest warrant said he tried to use one of the victims as a shield when shots were fired, according to a report by Fox Carolina.

Christopher Cobb, 26, Aaron Goodwin, 26, and Desmond Parks, 21, were charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, Loftis said.

Loftis said the area's half dozen homicides were largely due to gangs and drugs.

The dates of the homicides were Dec. 11 at 1 Landford Drive; Dec. 18 at 200 Pine Creek Court Ext.; Jan. 7 at 303 Springbrook Drive; Jan. 13 at 330 White Horse Road; Jan. 19 at 1008 White Horse Road; and on Saturday at 630 Centre Blvd.

"This is unusual to have this many homicides in a particular area," Loftis said, according to a Greenville News report.

The sheriff said more deputies have been assigned to the area to ensure better safety.
