UPDATE: Wrecks Clog West Butler Road During Rush-Hour
No serious injuries have been reported
Three car wrecks brought afternoon rush-hour traffic to a standstill today.
The first occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. at 427 West Butler Road near the Wilco gas station, according to Jimmy Crawford of the Mauldin Fire Department. Crawford said four vehicles were involved in the crash, one of which was a mini-bus from the Greenville County Disabilities and Special Neeeds Board. Nine persons were transported from the secene for precautionary reasons. No children were involved. The other vehicles involved were a dump truck and two passenger vehicles.
As a result of the first crash, another minor crash occurred that did not require medical attention.

A third mishap, unrelated to the first two, occurred further west on West Butler Road at the intersection with Fowler Circle. That wreck involved two vehicles and did not have any injuries. Ford said that one of the vehicles involved fled the scene. That incident is being investigated.
