UPDATE: Carjacking Suspects Arrested

Greenville County Sheriff's Deputies said the pair were arrested in Easley last night.

UPDATED on Sunday, Jan. 29, at 7:13 p.m.

James and Mickey Mayberry were arrested overnight in Easley.

The two men are currently in custody of the Greenville County Sheriff's Office. Both are charged with one count of attempted murder and are being held on no bond.

Both of the brothers are charged with two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime, one count of armed robbery and one count of pointing and presenting a firearm. Bonds on each of these charges were set at $20,000 a piece.

Greenville County deputies said the two suspects, James and Mickey Mayberry were involved in an armed robbery of a family member on Saturday morning.

After the robbery, deputies said the two men fled in a vehicle that they later wrecked in the area of Old Easley Bridge Road around 12:30 p.m.

After wrecking the vehicle, the two suspects in an attempt to flee the area, attempted to carjack three different individuals.

Deputies said in their final attempt, the two suspects were successful and are believed to be in possession of the victim’s vehicle, a silver 2011 Jeep Wrangler.

Deputies said the men are believed to be armed and dangerous.
