At Monday night's meeting, city council members will vote on a lease that would bring a second Chicora Alley location to the former Taco Bell location in Mauldin.
Chicora Alley currently operates on S. Main Street near Falls Park in downtown Greenville. The restaurant opened in 2003 and is owned by the brothers Ben and Bert Dixon. More information about Chicora Alley, which features live music and a cuisine that is a "fusion of exotic island and...southern home cookin," is at their website.
According to the terms of the lease (which is attached to this story and can be viewed on pages 75-93), the city, as owner of the property, would perform up to $24,302 in improvements which could be reimbursed in full as soon as August 2013 if projected revenues come to fruition.
