City Looking to Revoke Hailee's Business License
The latest turn in a tempestuous relationship

On Tuesday evening the Mauldin City Council will hold a public hearing to consider revoking the business license of Hailee’s Sports Bar & Grill. The hearing will be held at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers.
, the city unanimously passed an ordinance banning the sale of alcoholic beverages after 2 a.m. Though not specifically named, the ordinance targeted Hailee’s which caters to an after-hours crowd. Hailee’s owner Sonny Ninan has said publicly that many of his customers are second shift employees and that the ordinance would be devastating to his business.
It is unclear what prompted the latest turn of events. Mauldin City Administrator Trey Eubanks could not go into detail as to why the city chose to pursue this course of action at this particlular time, citing the legalities surrounding the decision. Eubanks did say that Hailee’s has had a high number of calls for services to the city police department.

Hailee’s sits on 1178 Woodruff Road, property that was annexed by Mauldin. It is also the site where an attempted murder took place in April, which led to two Anderson men being arrested.
When contacted by Mauldin Patch, Hinan referred questions to his attorney, Robert Childs. Childs did not respond to a request for comment.
