RECAP: City Committee Meetings

Monthly meeting preceded by special session.

The Mauldin City Council met for two hours to discuss the personnel matter and property matter referenced below and did not take a public vote on either item.

Upon returning, the committees moved quickly through an agenda that featured approval of the following items to be voted on at the May 21 City Council meeting:

  • Software for the Public Works Department (total cost $24,500) provided by a Colorado-based firm.
  • Make official the .
  • An infomercial about the city from a media company owned by former NFL star Terry Bradshaw. Mauldin would be one of only 20 South Carolina cities so featured.

There was also an agreement to table discussion on the Adopt-An-Interchange grant for both I-385/ Butler Road and I-385/ Bridges Road until May 21.

The highlight of tonight's monthly committee meeting is expected to be the naming of head for the Business Development Services Department, .

The council will meet in Executive session to discuss the matter. Also in Executive session the council will to discuss the leasing of property. 

Some of the noteworthy items as part of the regularly scheduled meeting (see attached pdf for full agenda):

  • Software for the Public Works Department (total cost $24,500) provided by a Colorado-based firm.
  • Make official the .
  • The Adopt-An-Interchange grant for both I-385/ Butler Road and I-385/ Bridges Road would require an investment from the city of $134,204 along with $400,000 in matching funds.
