UPDATE: Mauldin Driver Killed in Fountain Inn Crash

The wreck happened at 9:26 p.m. Tuesday on Hillside Church Road.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a driver in Fountain Inn Tuesday night.

According to the Greenville County Coroners Office Matthew Tyler Haussmann, 20, from Mauldin died at the scene of blunt force trauma to the head, WSPA reported.

Troopers said the wreck happened around 9:26 p.m. Tuesday on Hillside Church Road.

The car was headed north when it crossed the center line, left the road, and hit a ditch, troopers said. The Haussmann was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.

A passenger in the vehice was not injured in the crash, according to troopers.
