Dunkin' Donuts Celebrates Grand Opening

Sure to be a staple of Mauldin commuters.

The long-awaited debut of actually occurred last week, as many Mauldin residents already know. But it was made official on Monday with a celebration and ribbon cutting attended by approximately 100 members of the .

As a measure of Dunkin' Donuts' commitment to the area, company CEO and President Peter Marrinan was on hand as well as district manager Jamie Bertini and store manager Lori Cooper.

Marrinan said he came upon the store's location, the former home to Blockbuster Video, by accident. He added that the Mauldin store is part of a plan that will see 16 more Dunkin' Donuts starting in South Carolina, doubling the existing total.

"We had a positive relationship with the city while negotiating," Marrinan said, noting that the process of bringing the store to Mauldin took about six months.

Lori Cooper played host, introducing several of her 24 employees to attendees.
