Florida Authorities Seeking Alleged Mauldin Identity Thief

Unidentified woman allegedly used a Florida resident's identity to cash fraudulent check here, report says.

Florida investigators are looking for information about a woman whose image was captured while she used a Polk County, Fla., person's identity to cash a fraudulent check in Mauldin, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said.

The woman has been using several Florida identities to cash fraudulent checks into victims' bank accounts and then withdrawing the money, according to a Lakeland (Fla.) Ledger newspaper report.

She frequently has used SunTrust Bank and JP Morgan Chase Bank, the news report said.

Anyone with information about her is asked to call PCSO detective Hank Arlt at 863-292-3351 or Heartland Crime Stoppers in Florida at 800-226-8477.
