The South Carolina Department of Transportation has announced that motorists traveling south bound on I-385 should expect a lance change beginning today.The change will happen between the exits for Woodruff Road and Standing Springs Road and all south bound exits will be available from two thru lanes.The change occurring today will continue for the remainder of the project. The shift is necessary to allow work to proceed on the widening of I-385. The traffic on the new lanes will allow construction personnel to add concrete pavement and pave asphalt. The south bound lanes have yet to receive diamond grinding, which will happen at the end of the project and result in the final smoothness of the road.Follow Mauldin Patch on Facebook and Twitter.
