Mauldin Fire Captain Teaching Kids About Fire Safety

Phillip Brown, a veteran of the fire service, has written a children's coloring book to teach fire safety and also not to fear firefighters in all of their fire gear.

Mauldin Fire Captain Phillip Brown is making a difference in the lives of children one classroom at a time.

Brown who has written a children's coloring book, "The Fire Chief King," uses the story to teach kids about fire safety and to not fear firefighters when they come to help.

In a recent interview with The Greenville News, Brown said that children's first instinct is to hide during an emergency situation. Brown hopes to teach them to recognize that firefighters as people there to help.
