Mauldin Man Detained On Multitude of Charges

Victim was suspect's father.

On Friday, Mauldin Police arrested 50-year-old Henry Grady Manson and chanrged him with a series of crimes, all of which were alleged to have been committed against his father. The charges are: Exploitation of a Vulnerable Adult, Forgery < $10,000, and Assault and Battery 3rd Degree. Manson is being held at the Greenville County Detention Center on a total bond of $61,088.00.

Mauldin PD became aware of a potential crime on January 27 when a bank employee contact the department regarding a concern she had over the victim being abused by his own son and forcing the victim to give him money.

A subsequent investigation led to the discovery that Manson had forced his father to withdraw money from the bank and also forged the victim’s name on several checks to obtain money and put it in his own bank account. The investigation also revealed that a witness saw Mr. Manson raise his hand and threatened to hit the victim with a closed fist while both parties were outside of the bank.
