LandPlan Group South, Inc. is composing a Master Plan for the city's proposed City Center site, a roughly 12-city block area north of Mauldin's municipal complex. The plan, driven primarily by public input, will include:

  1. An updated market analysis to help identify the types of businesses that should be expected to locate in the area.
  2. An infrastructure plan for streets, water and sewer infrastructure, and parking areas of the redeveloped area to accommodate such businesses.
  3. A development plan with location and massing of new buildings and design guidelines to ensure a walkable urban village environment is created as redevelopment occurs.

The first public input session will be held Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 5:30- 7p.m. at Mauldin City Hall. The public is invited to drop by, discuss the plan and provide input.

Of particular interest will be opinions relating to:

  • Retail and Restaurant Development
  • Traffic Circulation
  • Bicycle and Pedestrian Access
  • Landscaping and Appearance

With all of these components in place, the area will become more enticing to private investors. The master plan is expected to be completed before the end of summer.
