Mauldin Police Called in Response to Family Feud

Mauldin Police have advised two neighboring families to steer clear of each other after officers were called in response to alleged threats made in a "feud" between the families' children, a police report said.

The mothers of both families alleged that the other is responsible for the feud, which has been "ongoing" for awhile, the report said.

Police were called after the 24-year-old older sister of one of the children allegedly admitted to saying "I'll kill you" to two neighbor children she believed were bullying and taunting her nine-year-old brother to fight, the report said. The woman denied to police ever making such a statement.

The mother of the two boys, ages four and 15, alleged that the nine-year-old neighbor has been the bully, while the mother of the nine-year-old alleged that the two neighbor boys had been trying to taunt him into a fight, the report said.

Regardless of who's at fault, officers advised the families to avoid each other until the "tension could cease," the report said.

Meantime, officers told the families the incident would be documented and presented before a judge before any potential criminal charges would be made, the report said.
