Mauldin Police Investigate Armed Robbery
Four suspects tried to rob a local store before fleeing empty-handed.

Mauldin Police are attempting to discover the identities of assailants who recently tried to rob a local store at gunpoint before quickly fleeing, a police report said.
On June 15, four black males with faces obscured entered the Whatever III tattoo and piercing parlor at 1178 Woodruff Road from the rear. Two of the suspects had handguns, said Det. Ben Ford. Several workers and patrons were in the store at the time of the incident, according to the report.
"Nothing was actually stolen and the reason for that is unknown," Ford said. "They were only in the business for about 30 seconds before leaving abruptly. Maybe something scared them, we don’t know at this time."
No one was injured in the incident.
Ford said the case is still active and police are checking out leads.
"I have some surveillance footage but due to the faces being covered, I don’t believe that anyone could identify them," Ford said. "I am still deciding if and when I should release it to the media."
Anyone with information about the incident can call the Mauldin Police Department at 864-289-8900.
